Saturdays are perfect market days and yesterday we had our first visit to the Market at The Palms and The Lock Stock, in Woodstock. Both markets are in the same premises and the Market at the Palms is the foodie side and The Lock Stock is the clothing, decor and gifts side. On the food side you can find a yummy selection of fresh produce, pickles and sauces, chocolate (love the personalised To the Best Teacher Ever for school gifts from Rococoa), craft beer and meals. This is a good market if you want to pop in but not stay long as there aren’t table and chairs to sit at besides the restaurant, nor a place for the kids to play. There is plenty of off-street parking in the parking garage which is a bonus.
You can find clothing, jewellery, furniture and other decor items at The Lock Stock market outside. My favourite items were from Handmade by Me including the cushions, aprons and bunting made from bespoke fabrics designed by Sera Holland using all natural fibre textiles and printed with eco-friendly, water-based pigment inks. The markets are at 145 Sir Lowry Road, Woodstock, Cape Town and open every Saturday between 9am – 2pm.
