Made in the Cape is an artisan goods event held once a month at Cavendish Square, Claremont. I visited one of their first market days and found a wonderful array of locally produced goods by local crafts people. This weekend they celebrate their first birthday with a weekend showcasing innovative, original and thought-provoking hand crafted goods. Everything sold is crafted, produced and packaged in the Western Cape – so all local – and there are textiles, jewellery, ceramics, woodwork and much more on sale.
The birthday market is from Friday 2 August to Sunday 4 August, open Friday and Saturday 9am to 7pm and Sunday 10am to 5pm. You can find more details and who is exhibiting on their Facebook page. Happy market shopping!
