Fairview Race Course in Port ElizabethAs much as I love social media and the ability to engage online easily, I do enjoy meeting people face to face. Nothing beats sitting down with someone, chatting in a comfortable space with good food, and getting to know them. Sometimes those conversations can last for hours, but we eventually have to go home, and continue chatting online.

When you have a room full of bloggers, with fabulous eats and goodie bags, you know the conversation is going to keep going. That was the case at the latest #ECMeetUp held this past weekend at the fabulous Fairview Race Course in Port Elizabeth. In fact, it was hard to get us to leave as we couldn’t get enough of the great company, delicious food and superb views over the racecourse.

On Saturday, 2 June, I travelled to Port Elizabeth with the family to attend my first #ECMeetUp networking event for bloggers and influencers. The #ECMeetUp has grown incredibly and they hosted their fifth event at the Fairview Race Course. When I saw the line-up of speakers, brands and the venue, I knew I had to join.

The event is a passion project for Eastern Cape bloggers Luchae Williams of My Spreadsheet Brain and Eleanor Douglas-Meyers of Just Ella Bella. The event is fast becoming a distinguished annual gathering for bloggers in South Africa.

“It serves to bring together bloggers and social media influencers based in and around the Eastern Cape, provide an opportunity for bloggers to learn from industry experts, and bridge the gap between brand and blogger.” Luchae Williams.
