There are a number of great Cape Town factory shops and below are a few that I would recommend for children’s clothes and accessories. What I like about these factory shops is that they offer quality clothes or food in clean premises, with friendly staff and easy parking and access.

Clothing is also easy to search through and is divided into boys and girls, and by size. Stock and sizes are subject to availability and new stock is always coming in so you may want to go back every few weeks.

Shops move and close, and if any of this information is out of date, please let me know.

  1. Hi,

I went to Little People Factory earlier today and the ladies outside the shop said that they’ve closed down. Their number is also not working, so my guess is that they are correct.

Also note that Creative Design Company have changed their trading hours recently. They are now open 8am-2pm on Saturdays and Mon-Fri 8:30am-2:45pm.

There’s also a Wool factory in Bellville for those mommy’s/Grannies who like to knit for babies/kids. Kleen Eezy Woolsalers -20 Northumberland St, Oakdale, Bellville. Open Mon-Fri 8:30-5pm and Sat 9-1pm. They claim to have the lowest prices in S.A and they have a vast selection of wool and yarn. There’s a bunch of other shops in the same road too (Cab foods, Deeghuys, Mambos, etc). There’s also a craft shop called Creative talents that I’m yet to check out, but has great google reviews.

  2. Hey,

I noticed a Shooshoos factory in Wetton (27 Plantation road), was hoping you’d know whether they sell to the public?

  3. Hi
I’m looking for baby unprinted vests and onesies in various sizes and colours at cheap prices. Can you please direct me where to look?
    Kind regards
    Ilze

  4. Hi there, I am looking into buying baby products at wholesale price. Is there anyone that can advise me on how I could possibly go about this. From baby clothing to baby products such as shampoo, nappies etc. I’d like to sell them.

    1. Hello, I am looking for second hand or reject sweaters and hoodies, warmers and boomer jackets as well as jercies sold in bulk and bale before these month ends

  5. Hi

I think the Sticky Fudge Factory is closed. Googe search says it’s :permanently closed” and their website is also been down for a while now.

    1. Hi Cyanne. Can I suggest you phone the store (details in the post) and ask what specials they are running and that they add you to their SMS notification service. Like two weeks ago I got an SMS to say T-shirts were from R50 and track tops from R85. It also depends on clothes sizes, I find you will get more variety and discounts on less popular sizes (like newborn and from 4 years). But generally, the discounts are better than the sales in store. Hope that helps.

  6. Hi

    There’s also :

-Creative design company in Maitland that sells Woolies baby clothes up to 24months,
-Buccanneer schoel shoes factory in Maitland
-Going under (opposite Beeline in Lansdowne and also in Induland road Lansdowne and various other branches in Cape town), sells items from local and int brands (Osh kosh, H&M, next)at low prices. They also sell clothes for the whole family.
-Factory toy shop in Parow (the same company as the one in Montague gardens you mention)
    -Mr Price Clearouts in Kuilsriver

  7. Good day I have a clothing shop in Hoedspruit Limpopo and I am looking to add a baby clothing/linen range and would like to find out if you do wholesale prices?

  11. Hi, does anyone know where to find items for baby and mom’s like babies bottles, breast pumps, dummies etc at an affordable prices in cape town?

    1. Hi Marei. I only know these factory shops and you will need to contact them to see if they will sell rejects to you. Many larger companies won’t sell their rejects or overruns to the public. All the best

    1. Sorry, not that I know of. Tsonga is made in Pietermaritzburg, so if they have a factory shop, it will more than likely be in KZN. Hope the rest of my list is helpful.

  12. Hi I have been looking for earthchild factory shop in Cape Town. It has moved from paardeniland. Is there any other one around Cape Town.

    1. Hi Phumla. Earthchild no longer have a factory shop anywhere in Cape Town. They are now owned by the Truworths group and you can buy on credit at one of their retail stores.

  13. Hi Sarah, do you know any shop that sells good reject clothing from Edgar’s, Woolworths, jet, Mr price etc in cape town, I want to open a clothing shop. Please reply to Ahlangene2016@gmail .com

      1. Hi there,

I have been looking for a cmt for baby clothes for a while , i have something different in design but the general cmt wants 100 units per style for first order . Do you know of anyone preferably in gauteng who offer these services …?

        1. Hi Bridgette. I’m sorry I don’t. I do know it is difficult to find someone who you can trust and it is wise to have someone who lives nearby, so you can check progress and answer any questions they may have. Can I suggest you visit your local fabric shops and ask there, they may know of reliable contacts? Good luck

    1. Hi Ayisha. There are a couple of factory shops in Cape Town and the list above is the ones I would recommend for baby items. You should be able to find newborn items at Earthchild, Keedo and Naartjie, but if you are looking for plain onesies, then AK Knit Factory Shop in Elsies River is a good place to start. Details in the post.

    1. Hi Johnny. What kind of stock are you looking for and in what price range? I will need some more info in order to be able to help. Thanks

  24. Hi Sarah! Thank you for all the information in the post. Please do you know any factory shops that make (sew) clothes in bulk (i.e. my own designs) in Cape Town? I am starting an online shop on a budget and do not want to employ tailors. I would really appreciate any info. Thank You!

    1. Hi Joy. I only have 1 contact for you, however if they can’t help I’m sure they can tell you who can. Pierre Sarembock at Posse Clothing in Salt River Tel: 021 448 – 9021 or 0214426500. Good luck with your online shop and please send me a link once it’s up so I can take a look.

      1. Hi Ayesha. Since I’m Cape Town based I don’t know the Durban factory shops but I’m doing some research and have plans to do a post especially for Durban very soon. Will let you know once it’s done.

  25. Hi. I am looking for factory shops or wholesalers for toys. Not the cheap rubbish stuff. But things like barney. Disney. Barbie. Etc. I know about the discount toy shop in parow. Are there any others?

    1. Hi Elizabeth. I don’t know of many factory shops in Cape Town for good toys as most toys are imported. Please give Prima Toys in Epping a call to see if their factory shop is still open 021 818 2000. Not what you may be looking for but for wooden toys Planx have wholesale http://www.planx.co.za/index.php?main_page=page&id=16 and The Bean People have a factory shop at Unit 3, Fish Eagle Park, Kommetjie, Cape Town. Please let me know if you find what you want. You may want to call Pegasus Toys to enquire about their wholesale prices http://pegasustoys.co.za/contact/

    1. Hi Fehrzaana. Since the larger stores like Woolworths etc no longer sell maternity clothes, you will find it hard to these items in factory shops. Annabella Maternity have occasional sales at their factory store http://annabellamaternity.co.za/ but if you are looking for affordable maternity clothes, try Cherry Melon http://www.cherrymelon.co.za/. They don’t have a factory store but their prices are reasonable and keep an eye out for their sales.

  26. I am coming to cape town next week for Easters but I am looking for sissy boy factory also selling Woolworth’s cloths & truworths.please help

    1. Hi Busi. The Sissy Boy Factory Shop is in Green Street in Maitland tel (021) 506 4600 (Google Maps https://www.google.co.za/maps/dir/-33.9232689,18.4783018//@-33.9235004,18.4777278,17z). I don’t want to send you all over Cape Town, so I would say Access Parks are a good place for 1 stop shopping in Kenilworth and Bellville http://www.accesspark.co.za/. Relabelled is a good place for Truworths etc. Another good area is Lansdowne, Bee Line (021) 761 5786 in Castor Road sell Woolworths and nearby in Induland Crescent you will find a number of clothing factory shops. Google Directions https://www.google.co.za/maps/place/Induland+Ave,+Cape+Town,+7780/@-33.9910209,18.515878,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m2!3m1!1s0x1dcc4366dab122d9:0xeb0745b19b94833c. All the best for your Easter shopping!

  27. Hi Sarah,

I would like to purchase sports wear, shoes, leather handbags and purses???Any recommendations?

    Thanks in advance..
    Mighty..

    1. Hi Mighty, Access Park in Kenilworth will have everything you need, there is a Adidas, Canterbury, Footgear, Hi-Tec, New Balance, Nike, Puma, Reebok, Zoom and Footgear outlets/factory shops for shoes and sports gear. Here’s a full list of all the shops there http://www.accesspark.co.za/kenilworth/shopping/ If you can’t find leather goods at Access Park, try Christin Manufacturers in Brackenfell. http://www.ostrichleathergoods.co.za/contacts.html. I haven’t been there myself, but apparently they have discounted prices in their factory shop. Maybe give them a call first to see if they have what you are looking for. Hope you find what you want.

  28. Anyone been to the Sticky Fudge store? What’s the prices like? Similar to Earthchild? I know even with a 50% sale on their website Sticky Fudge is still a bit to expensive for my budget. Love Earthcild factory shop though πŸ™‚

    1. Hi Liza. Yes, the prices will be about 40-50% off and there are a couple of bargain bins too, so even though much cheaper, they will be still some cost. With factory shops you are never guaranteed to get what you want, in the sizes you want, that’s the risk you take for getting the discounts. What I would suggest is liking the Sticky-Fudge FB page and signing up to their newsletter, so you can find out when their factory shop will have a clearance sale, as that’s when you will get the best bargains. Happy bargain hunting!

    2. I went to the Sticky fudge factory at the beginning of this month and they had a sale.Got jeans for R100; joggers for R80-R100, shirts for R50-R80; t-shirts for R50. I would consider this quite cheap for the good quality of the garments. You can get these same prices at e,g Mr Price, but the quality won’t hold up as well.

  29. Hi
First of all thanks for this info. We just moved in cape town recently and i am loving it so far. I do not know cape town that much yet and i would like to ask if there are some factory shops for women’s and men’s wear (christmas is approching so need to find something beautiful), it would be grate if you could advice me where to buy home furnitures as well since factory shops sell much cheaper than brand stores.
Thanks in advance and please help.

    1. Hi Zinnia. Hope the move went well and you enjoy living in CT. Where are you based? Access Parks are a great one-stop shopping for women’s and men’s wear. There is an Access Park in Kenilworth (http://www.accesspark.co.za/kenilworth/shopping/) and Bellville (http://www.accesspark.co.za/homeB.asp). For furniture, try Decofurn with shops around CT (http://www.decofurnsa.co.za/) and Coricraft have a scratch and dent shop in Montague Gardens (https://www.coricraft.co.za/CoriOnlineShop/Admin/BargainBox.aspx). When we went to the Coricraft factory shop there wasn’t much stock and some of it was damaged, but our friends were just lucky the day they went and found a nice couch. Hope this helps you!

  30. Hi guys !!!

I am in Scotland at the moment moving back home with two kids and one on the way. I am really straggling to decide if I should ship all the bay stuff and also if I should buy lots of nappies for the little one over here and ship. And I was looking for a second hand travel cot, saw one for R800 on gumtree, is this cheap for a second hand? Does anyone know of any place that sells cots? thanks a lot. Am a bit confused xxxx

    1. Hi Vanessa. Congrats on the new baby and your move back to SA! I put your question on my FB page for other mom’s advice and so far here are the comments. Please check out my FB page and follow the post for more advice as they really want to help you with your big move. https://www.facebook.com/themommycity Kerry said: Hi, would recommend getting a quote to ship the items as well as the cost of customs duties & tax as these can add up quickly. Best to contact a few removal companies in Scotland. You can do a price comparison of 2nd hand stuff merry popins & baby go round are good 2nd hand stores for the big items. Nevada furniture do new items like cots etc at good prices. Tina said: Babies are costly Id say ship items that youll pay an arm and a leg for here or items you wont find here. Cezanne said: Hi babycity sells anything and everything you need for your baby and they have the best prices when it comes to nappies (2x giant pampers packs + 1 pack of wipes for about R300) (6 pack of wipes for about R99 – pampers) R800 for a second hand cot is not bad, depending on the quality and condition. I would suggest going on the babycity website for prices on cots. There is also a couple of places that sells 2nd hand baby stuff, maybe just google it. All the best with the move.

  31. I am planning a trip to Cape Town next weekend and would like to know what these shops are like in terms of traffic? Are they always full? I am planning an early start to the morning, will this be okay?

    1. These shops can get busy but nothing you couldn’t handle. I would say Beeline probably get’s the busiest, but I chose these shops because they are still nice to shop at even in the crowds. Take into account closing times when you plan your route because there is some driving distances between Paarden Eiland, Hout Bay and Lansdowne. Let me know how it goes and happy bargain hunting.

  32. Hi Sarah, I know some of them are, but specifically the WOOLIES factory shop, is it only baby clothes or for toddlers and older kids also?
    Thanks in advance.

  33. just wanted to say thanks a bunch, expecting my little prince in november and was stressing about where to get good stuff which wouldn’t cost a arm and a leg!! your info has been so helpful. πŸ™‚

    1. So glad I could help Kathija and congratulations on your pregnancy. All the best for the birth in November and please send a pic of your handsome prince πŸ™‚

    1. Hi Mercy. I don’t run these factory shops, this is just my recommended list of factory shops in CT. You will need to contact each shop directly on the numbers I have shared in the post. As far as I know you will need to visit the shops in person to purchase items. All the best.

    1. Hi Mbali. I shared your question on my Facebook page but no responses. I don’t know about factory shops in Joburg but do know Naartjie has a factory shop in Epsom Downs

Shop 3, Epsom Downs Shopping Centre, Bryanston
      Tel: (011) 706 8604
      Mon – Fri: 09h00 – 18h00
      Sat: 09h00 – 17h00
      Sun, Public Holidays: 09h00 – 14h00

      Enjoy being an aunty!

  34. I went to BeeLine last sat and it was packed i did manage to get some stuff for my little girl though. Thanks for sharing.

      1. I don’t have the names, you will need to contact them directly. I have provided telephone numbers in my post or you will need to contact them through their websites which you can find through Google.

          1. Not sure if you are looking on your phone and that’s the problem as they should come up in pink under each business? Best maybe to just google the numbers – hope they can help you with rejects πŸ™‚

    1. You will need to contact each shop as I’m not aware of any further discounts offered for bulk purchases. Please let us know if they do.
